Ferrari spare parts heist: UAE-Africa connection

A Dubai-owned Ferrari 458 worth $325,000 was stolen and sold to an African man for $55,000.

The Ferrari was stolen from the basement parking lot of a Dubai hotel by three European men who were in the emirate on a visit visa. The African man purchased it and drove the sports car to a neighbouring emirate. He aimed to dismantle the vehicle and sell the parts.

According to the Dubai police, who were aided by the CCTV footage, the previous owner of the Ferrari had struck a deal with the thieves to steal the car and profit from selling the spare parts. He helped them pull off the theft by providing the key to the vehicle.
