Lamborghini plans to sell 3,500 units of Urus in 2018. To accommodate the perceived demand, the company has built an 80,000 sq.ft. factory in a span of 18 months solely for the production of the Urus.
The Urus will be built on the same Volkswagen Group MLBevo platform as the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. The Urus is expected to have a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, made by the Volkswagen Group, rated around 650hp.
Total production (including Huracáns and Aventadors) is expected to reach 7,000 units per year.
